By Nick November 19, 2007

Some of Europe’s biggest cities have already installed public bike renting services to solve two problems, pollution and transit agglomeration. Currently, the bike renting service is being used in Paris, Seville, Lyon and Barcelona and Rome just started to install it. Along with Rome, there are plans for it in Madrid and San Francisco.Currently, the plans in Rome are to deploy 250 bikes in 22 stations, in the historical center, from January 2008. If the program runs as expected, then they plan to make stations in all the city and deploy 20,000 bikes. This would be another step in reducing pollution.
