McCain believes in Global Warming, kind of
By Nick July 12, 2008
In a recent swing through Minnesota, McCain did his best to distance himself from President Bush’s environmental beliefs and policy. In McCain’s new token “straight talk,” McCain strongly said several things:
- He greatly disapproved of Bush’s Climate change policy
- McCain believes global warming is real (maybe..)
- He often visits environmentally sensitive areas

What a good guy huh? Well, he didn’t totally commit to the global warming issue by saying that even if global warming is not real but is fixed anyways by the federal government’s future policies, it’s basically not going to hurt anyone - all it will do is clean up the earth for future generations. That’s a true and politically correct statement as a conservative republican where being green isn’t totally popular, but that statement does cast doubt on the science and issue, and it does downplay global warming’s imminent threat indirectly, which isn’t so desirable for the eco friendly crowd. Better than Bush? Sure. Better than Obama? No. Good enough for conservative Republicans? Probably.
