Madagascar’s Turtles, Now Endangered
By Nick February 11, 2008

Madagascar is an island situated in the Indian Ocean near the southeastern coast of Africa and is the fourth largest island in the world.
According to Wildlife Conservation Society, the turtles and tortoises in Madagascar are considered endangered because of the illegal trading. WCS states that five of nine species have been dangerously decimated with a mention for the ploughshare tortoise which has decreased to a number of a few hundreds.
They also said that the illegal trade is not the only threat - the radiated tortoises are sold for food in markets.
With days passing by, another animal is endangered. We will not stop to blame all authorities that don’t take any measures to ensure the future of the wildlife.
