Essentia Eco Friendly, Natural Memory foam Bedding

When making a decision on your next mattress and bedding, more than likely it won’t be based on how eco friendly the mattress is, but rather the comfort of it. While comfort should obviously be number one, there’s no reason you can’t also have a green, natural, eco friendly bed arrangement as well.
For natural memory foam that is easy on the environment, the leading provider - Essentia - contacted me for a review of their natural, green “sleep systems.” Essentia memory foam mattresses are self proclaimed to be the the only natural memory foam mattresses available, touting the following features:
- Made with 100% natural latex and organic essential oils
- No toxic, harsh chemicals in production
- Hypoallergenic, dust mite resistant, and anti-microbial
- No adhesives
- Non-toxic fire retardant

These are definitely very impressive features for this Canadian memory foam mattress producer that are hard to find elsewhere. Initially, though, I was kind of put off by their claim to be the sole producer of natural memory foam mattresses. But after further investigation, other natural latex mattresses are not complete foam bedding systems - Some are just natural memory foam toppers and others are natural conventional mattresses - not memory foam systems like Essentia.
Also, Essentia explains how competitors (mainly Chinese) are able to claim “natural” by replacing 5-15% of the petroleum latex with natural latex soy, so they are really just misleading consumers.
