CityZENN Will Be Powered By EEStor’s Ultracapacitor

By Nick April 9, 2008

ZENN Motor Co. decided to use the energy-storage technology called ‘game-changing’ from EEStor to power up the cityZENN vehicle. The electric car is supposed to be fully capable of highway trips with a range of 400 kilometres/250 miles and a maximum speed of 125 KPH/80 MPH.

Using the storage capabilities from EEStor, it will be rechargeable in less than five minutes and would require employment costs 90 percent lower than a regular engine with internal combustion. The car will be emission free and ZENN will receive the first commercial product in 2008.

Company representatives say that the car hasn’t been tested yet, but it is in ‘advanced stages of commercialization’. ZENN chief executive Ian Clifford expects the cityZENN to compete with comparative vehicles that use gas as fuel and also to be affordable for everyone.

How can this be? GM is having trouble getting 40 MP Charge out of their VOLT? How can this car get 250? Don’t they mean with a gasoline engine helping it?
