Wednesday, March 19th, 2008Craig Venter is a genetics pioneer and is one of the best biologist in the world. He is responsible for sequencing the human genone and for mapping ocean’s biodiversity, facts done in 2001 respectively in 2003. Now he is back with another project - to create the first synthetic microoranisms which could produce alternative fuels.
Mr. [...]
Painted Solar Cells On Steel Buildings Could Generate Energy
Monday, March 10th, 2008It looks like everybody is looking for new ways to produce alternative power or the harvest energy which is a good thing and these are first steps to a greener world. Scientists from Swansea University, United Kingdom, is looking into the possibility of generating electricity with painted solar cells on steel materials.
This green technology might [...]
Konarka Tests The First Inkjet Printed Solar Cells
Thursday, March 6th, 2008Konarka Technologies is a company which is trying to develop new ways of producing solar energy, with its headquarters in Lowell, Massachusetts and it was founded in 2001. On 4th of March they announced that they have successfully tested the manufacturing process of inkjet printed solar cells. This project was published in a journal called [...]
Nano-crystals Which Absorb CO2
Wednesday, March 5th, 2008A researcher named Omar Yaghi, from the UCLA, has developed nano-crystals that absorb carbon dioxide. The absorbing crystals can “eat” up to 80 times their volume. According to Omar, these nano-crystals can be useful for engines because it can absorb the carbon dioxide before it reaches the air.
Omar Yaghi and his team can study the [...]
CO2 To Help Producing Biofuel
Tuesday, February 26th, 2008Los Alamos National Laboratory is a research institution which is committing to science for the national security. Also they must ensure the safety and the reliability of the development of technologies meant to prevent damages from weapons of mass destruction, to find new ways of producing energy, to protect the environment and other global issues.
