The Latest Recycling News

With drought and other water restrictions being experienced globally these days, a timely invention has recently taken shape – Bay Area California scientist Meng Lean’s water filtration method, that filters water five times faster and cheaper than existing systems.

The idea came into being during a time Lean was commissioned by the U.S. Army for water-purifying services to soldiers deployed in the field. He worked in a cramped Palo Alto laboratory which eventually served as the launching pad of his own brand of water purification technology.

The generator makes electricity from residual industrial heat that regularly wastes. The obtained electricity is also very cheap, getting a price of three cents per kW/hr in payback period and about one penny after that. In the process are used patented pressure and heat recovery techniques and needs only 200 degrees Fahrenheit to start generating energy. (more…)

Container of Recyclable Electronics

Everyone should think greener because as we all know, the environment suffers due to our actions. An important step is to recycle and the first things that we can recycle are our electronics and computers. A company that provides great Computer recycling Seattle services is Total Reclaim, a leading recycler in the Pacific Northwest.

It’s my duty to let you know about the computer disposal info which shows an alarming E-waste rate of about 88 percent which means that only 12 percent was recycled. Don’t be worried if you are not from Seattle as Total Reclaim offers Portland computer recycling, in Oregon, therefore you should consider becoming one of their customers because everybody gains something as a sequel of recycling.

I am very happy that there is somebody who thinks of the environment and provides services that helps to protect the environment.

Electronic Waste Recycling

Some methods of protecting the environment are expensive and not always reliable, but recycling is really a good one. Electronics waste recycling can significantly reduce the waste and provide materials for new electronics, which is great for the environment, reducing the pollution.

If everyone used the computer recycling and disposal services, we would now live in a better and greener world, but unfortunately people hasn’t yet understood what effects the pollution has and aren’t going to stop too soon. For example, on TotalReclaim.com you can find great Seattle computer recycling services. It’s the time to take action.

Range Fuels

Range Fuels have raised $100 million to build a plant that they believe to be able to produce 100 million gallons of ethanol per year, all that from wood scraps. The company previously received funds worth up to $76 million from the U.S. Department of Energy.

To convert the wood wastes into ethanol, Range Fuels will use thermochemical processes and the alcohol can be either mixed into gas, or be turned into the E85 combustible, which is 85 percent ethanol.

The plant is expected to begin its production in 2008, and the goal for the first year will be of only 20 million gallons. It will be located in Georgia, state with a huge timber industry, and will use the chunks of wood that are disposed by furniture workshops or other wood-processing factories.
