Sapphire Energy announced that they have successfully used a breakthrough process to produce renewable 91 octane green gasoline, crude oil, from CO2, sunlight and algae. Jason Pyle, CEO and co-founder of the group, stated that Sapphire’s aim is to become ‘the world’s leading producer of renewable petrochemical products’, and their new achievement places them one step closer to it. A team of collaborating researchers from the Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter and TU Delft brought proof that electrons produce the ‘Avalanche Effect’ in a certain type of semiconducting crystals. This effect, combined with the energy obtaining process via solar cells, could result in a high improvement in their output. (more…)

Veil Solar Shade

A good way to teach the kids about global warming and the importance of replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy is to design something they like and understand. An interactive solar power installation was designed by Buro North for Australian primary school yards with many purposes like to generate electricity, teach kids about renewable energy and to provide shade from the sun.

Electric Motor

An inventor has developed an electric motor which is supposed to be 300% times more efficient than a conventional one. Zhaan Jordaan’s electric motor is capable of producing 120% more kinetic watts than regular motors because it uses 12 volts of DC power supply with 7,5 applied ampere.
